The spoon, the symbol of the Alimentarium

Why a spoon? Simply because it is the most widely-used culinary utensil in the world. What could be more appropriate for the only museum in the world devoted to food in general?

The spoon now embellishes all sectors of the Museum and its promotional material. It will be aired, quite literally, on 19 June 2010 at the Museum’s official anniversary celebration, when it will adorn the streets of Vevey, inviting one and all to join in the festivities at the Alimentarium.

The spoon is the perfect companion for the gigantic fork anchored in Lake Geneva, a mere stone’s throw from the Museum garden. Forks and spoons appear to be dancing together on the cover page of the new 2010 Museum Agenda and invite you to tuck into the new thematic brochures.
